Month of the Military Child is held to recognize our nation’s most patriotic and brave citizens, the children of military members. A fest in their honor is held to thank them for their sacrifice and show appreciation for their role in the military family. Food, entertainment and great door prizes make this fest the place to be for Fort Hood youth. Entry free.



Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Directions to BLORA

Hunting for eggs in the dark, who would have thought? Over 50,000 eggs filled with goodies are hidden throughout Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area for children ages two to 12 to enjoy. Festivities kick off at 6 pm and include bouncers, photos with the Easter Bunny, concessions and more. The gate fee is $6 per passenger vehicle, with additional fees for larger vehicles. Bring the children out to enjoy the festivities and don’t forget your basket and flashlight. The hunt kicks off at 8:30 pm, but the gate closes promptly at 8:10 pm…So get there early! For additional information, call 287-2523. Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area is located approximately 10 miles from North Nolan Road (Sparta Road) approximately 10 miles from East Range Road. Access to park also possible from FM 439 & Sparta Road.
